Follow-ups help increase your chances of getting a response. You can send them to contacts who opened your message, clicked any element in the email, or didn’t engage at all.
Each follow-up is sent in the same email thread as your original pitch. It keeps the same subject line and sender, so your message feels like a natural continuation of the conversation.
Note: This feature is available on the Pro plan.
Choosing when to follow up
You can schedule a follow-up in two places:
- Right after sending an email. Click Schedule a follow-up on the confirmation screen.
- From Your Emails. Open the dropdown next to the message you sent in the Follow-ups column.
Decide who will receive a follow-up based on email engagement:
- Didn’t open
- Opened, but didn’t click
- Opened and clicked
Choose one of these options and click Create follow-up to start drafting.
Editing and scheduling your follow-up
In the follow-up editor, you can:
- Manage recipients – Click Manage recipients to exclude people you don’t want to follow up with.
- Check the subject – The subject stays the same to keep the message in one thread.
- Check the sender – You can’t change the sender for follow-ups.
- Choose send time – Click Add send time to send it later, or send it right away.
Click Create follow-up to write your message.
At the bottom of the editor, you’ll see your original email. It’s included for context and can’t be edited, but you can remove it by clicking the delete icon.
Click Next to go to the next step. You’ll then see a previous checklist of recipients, sender, subject, etc., and finally click Send follow-up (or Schedule follow-up) to confirm.
Managing existing follow-ups
In Your Emails, you can view and/or edit individual follow-ups:
- If the follow-up was sent, you’ll see its performance stats.
- If it’s a draft, you can open it in the editor and make changes.
- If it’s scheduled, you can edit it, but only after you confirm you want to move it back to drafts.
Reviewing follow-up results
Sent follow-ups track the same statistics as regular emails:
- Open rates and click rates
- Delivery issues and unsubscribes
- Who received which follow-up
Use this data to identify the outreach strategies that work so you can improve your future campaigns.
